David Heath is a professional engineer with a Bachelor of Applied Science in mechanical engineering from Queen's University and a Masters of Business Administration from York University. He began his career with Acres Consulting Services as a design engineer working on hydroelectric projects. David has worked with the Federal Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, in the Electrical Energy Sector.

David completed his career with Ontario Power Generation at Queenston as Plant Group Manager for OPG's Queenston, Niagara Falls, Thorold and St.Catharines facilities. He was responsible for the maintenance, operation, expansion and for sustaining investments of OPG's hydroelectric assets in the Niagara Region which included Sir Adam Beck 1 and 2, DeCew, and the Pump Generating Stations.

Among his most significant technical accomplishments were lead roles in the engineering for the Niagara Tunnel project and the $170 million Sir Adam Beck 2 Rehabilitation, which increased the capacity and energy output of the plant, making more effective use of the Niagara River water. David has gained a wealth of experience in the entire life cycle of hydroelectric projects from concept to retirement.

He and his wife Carol, have three married children and seven grandchildren.
